PECO Business Energy Efficiency incentives: Prescriptive, Custom and Small Business Solutions

The program covering Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, and one of the few that publishes its incentive rates openly. Incentives are paid per kilowatt hour saved, so the better the retrofit, the larger the payment.

What the program actually pays for

Small Business Solutions pays $0.20 per kWh saved on interior lighting and efficient equipment, and $0.20 per kWh on exterior lighting. It is the strongest rate in the program.
All other prescriptive projects are paid at $0.10 per kWh saved.
Custom projects are paid at $0.15 per kWh for all project types other than solar and combined heat and power, which are paid at $0.10 per kWh.
Incentives cover LEDs, interior and exterior lighting and lighting controls, alongside HVAC, industrial and process equipment, refrigeration and new construction.
Because payment follows kilowatt hours saved, the fixture schedule and the pre-installation counts decide the size of the incentive. That is the part we do in-house.

How we run it

Eligibility review. We confirm which utility serves the address, which programs the facility qualifies for, and which measures on your site are on the current incentive list.
Documentation. We prepare the application, the fixture schedule, the pre and post counts and the supporting evidence the program requires, in the format it requires.
Utility coordination. We deal with the program representative directly, answer their queries and hold the project until written pre-approval is in hand.
Project management. From approval through to completion we manage the schedule, the electricians, the material and the site access as one scope.
Verification. We complete the post-installation verification the program requires so the incentive is actually paid, which is the step most projects get wrong.
