A metal halide high-bay draws 400 watts and loses output steadily from the day it is installed. Its LED replacement does the same job at around 150 watts, holds its output, and does not need a lift and a lamp every few thousand hours.

Specialism

Warehouse and high-bay lighting

Warehouses are where the arithmetic is most dramatic, because the fixtures are large, there are a lot of them, and they run long hours. Many sites are still on fluorescent, metal halide or high-pressure sodium fittings that draw heavy current and need a lift every time one fails.

We design to the way the building is actually used: light on the aisle floor and on the top rack, no glare into a forklift driver's eyes, and controls that dim the zones nobody is working in without leaving anyone in the dark.

Controls

Occupancy sensors and smart controls

Replacing the fixture cuts the wattage. Controlling it cuts the hours. Together they do far more than either on its own, and on most programs controls carry their own incentive line.

We specify occupancy sensing for intermittently used space, daylight harvesting where there is a window line or roof light, and time scheduling for areas that empty predictably. On PSE&G projects, luminaire level lighting control has to be a DLC NLC V5.0 certified product to qualify, so that is what we quote.

  • Occupancy and vacancy sensing, set to the dwell times the space needs
